Imagine the Impact You'll Have

You want to see our community thrive, and you want to ensure your own family is secure. What if you could do both?

You can build a powerful legacy today that protects your loved ones tomorrow—all without touching your day-to-day budget. With a legacy gift, you can gain significant tax savings and peace of mind while ensuring that Brightway’s mission continues for generations.

Gifts for Every Journey

A “Legacy Gift” is simply a way to plan a future contribution that feels right for your life. You don’t need to be wealthy or have a large cash reserve to make a lasting difference.

In fact:

  • Give more by giving differently: You can support us through retirement plans, real estate, or even collectibles.
  • Protect your cash flow: Many cost you nothing during your lifetime.
  • Care for your heirs: Reduce your estate taxes and pass more assets to your family.
  • Receive while you give: Certain plans can actually pay you an income for life.

Ways to give (1)

Bequest: Simple & Flexible

A gift in your will or living trust is the easiest way to give because it costs nothing now. It is also “revocable,” meaning you can change it at any time if your circumstances shift.

Beneficiary Designation: A Quick Update

You can name Brightway as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, insurance policy, or bank account. It’s as simple as updating a form, and it allows you to give from assets that might otherwise be heavily taxed.

Charitable Gift Annuity: Income for Life

This is a “give and get” plan. You transfer cash or securities to Brightway, and in exchange, we provide you with fixed payments for life. You also receive an immediate tax deduction.

Charitable Remainder Trust: Security for You

Transfer assets into a trust that pays you (or a loved one) income for a set number of years. When the term ends, the remaining balance supports Brightway’s future.

Charitable Lead Trust: Passing it On

This works in reverse: the trust provides income to Brightway first for a set period. Afterward, the remaining assets for back to you or your family, often with significant tax advantages.

Real Estate: A Foundation for Growth

Deeding property to Brightway offers a major tax deduction and you can give the property outright.

Retained Life Estate: Giving While Staying Home

You can transfer the deed of your home to Brightway but retain the full right to live there for the rest of your life. You get the tax benefit now; we receive the gift later.

Charitable Bargain Sale: A Win-Win

Sell your property to Brightway for less than its market value. You get the cash from the sale plus a tax deduction for the difference in price.
